
OPENING CEREMONY COHORT 1
The Lagos State Public Service Accelerator Program (PSAP) was formally inaugurated on Thursday, May 29, 2025, with the theme: “Accelerated Learning: Empowering Civil Servants for Tomorrow’s Challenges.” The event marked a significant milestone in the state’s commitment to developing high-performing, future-ready public service.
All selected participants of the maiden cohort were present and formally welcomed into the program. Upon arrival, each participant received branded program items including official ties and scarves, alongside a comprehensive program folder containing detailed information about the program’s structure, schedule, and expectations. The atmosphere was energetic, with enthusiastic interactions between guests, officials, and participants. A dedicated Q&A session ensured that all participant inquiries were addressed.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Establishments and Training, Oluwatoyin Atanda, gave an introductory presentation on the program and officially welcomed the cohort. This was followed by a Welcome Address by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olubusola A. Abidakun, who emphasized the Ministry’s resolve to nurture a competent and values-driven public workforce.

The Honourable Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, delivered his remarks, highlighting the ministry’s investment in upskilling civil servants and its commitment to innovation-driven governance.
The Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, delivered a Goodwill Message, reinforcing the importance of continuous learning and reform within the public service. A touching spoken word performance by Mumtaz Paramole reflected the ideals of transformation and public service excellence.
The Theme Speech was delivered by Mrs. Fabanwo Olubunmi, FCIPM, former Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission. Her address focused on adapting public service delivery in an era of rapid change, drawing from her vast experience in public administration.
The event’s highlight was the Keynote Address by Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State ably represented by Chairman Civil Service Commission – Mrs Bolade Dapo-Thomas. He lauded the participants for their commitment and charged them to fully engage with the opportunity, emphasizing the critical link between a productive public service and Lagos State’s overall development vision.
The event closed with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Modupe Animashaun, Director of Training, who acknowledged the support of the various dignitaries, facilitators, and teams that made the launch a success.
